FAQs

  • After looking over our website, we hope it’s clear that PDS appreciates honest & transparent communication from our clients & aims to deliver the same. We will listen to your struggles & concerns, with no judgement or blame. However, will also be honest & straightforward about our evaluations & consequences of actions prior to training.

We realize that dog training is a great investment of time, money & patience. We are candid with our tools, approaches & programs, in order to attract clients that will be successful. We respect dog owners who are willing to open their minds & gain knowledge that can be used for not only their current dog(s), but also future dogs they may own.

  • Well let’s start with boarding your dog on average costs $30+ per night. That’s usually at a high capacity, loud, stressful facility. At PDS your dog is living in an in home environment while also being professionally trained. Throw in all the tools & lessons included in the package and WHOOP there it is!

  • Dogs don’t consciously think that their owners abandoned them. They are stressed about the changes… new environment, new people, new smells & routines. They could easily act this “sad” way if you moved into a new home.

After working with hundreds of dogs & puppies of all ages, its been consistent for most dogs to go through a decompression phase. 1-3 days, tops, of some whining, possibly loose stools, maybe they wont eat or drink at first, getting used to the big changes.

This is all normal. It’s also consistent after they decompress, that their mood shifts into a more focused eager to please & learn mentality. They sleep like babies & have a big appetite from all the work!

  • Have you ever shoved treats in your dogs face while they were aroused or fixated and gotten zero interest? Or they take the treat and continue with the bad behaviors?

Have you ever pet your dog to “console them” while they were anxious, only to wonder why they are becoming MORE vocal?

These are some scenarios when praise/reward is not the answer, to get the results you are looking for.

When the rewards are beneficial we most definitely use them. We match intensity with praise just like we do with correction.

  • No, in fact the opposite. When used properly tools are the most gentile, non invasive way to accomplish communication with dogs. Accompanied by the programs, tools have helped create more confident & happy pups!

  • Dogs actively in training will only be interacting with Felicia’s personal pack. However once graduated all dogs are able to interact in a supervised, controlled area with other trained dogs. (boarding & pack socialization)

  • PDS requires proof of rabies vaccine. We recommend but do not require any other vaccine. Felicia’s pack is FULLY vaccinated.

If you choose to vaccinate, your dog has a low risk of contracting any illness. If you choose not to vaccinate, you are responsible for that risk. Just like when you take them to a dog park or pet store.

  • We take Cash, Check & Zelle.

Payment plans are offered in the sense that you can inquire in March and book in October. You can make payments of any amount above $50 over time, until booked training date. Keep in mind 20% of total cost is due 3 weeks before booked date & remaining balance is due in full 3 days before drop off day.

Any money transferred will not be refunded for any reason but can be used for future services.
